Products I Regret Buying!

I've been wanting to do a post like this for a while, so without further ado, may I present the products I regret buying!

The first product is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser for dark circles in the shade 20, fair. I regret buying this particular colour because it's very dark, particularly for underneath my eyes. I like to use a slightly lighter concealer for that area and this is darker than my actual skin tone, so it definitely doesn't work under my eyes. I've still used a lot of it, because it was expensive, but I wouldn't even repurchase it.

Next is the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Sand. Again, this is slightly too dark for me. I also found that since I have really dry skin, this cakes up on me and though it conceals, it doesn't look natural at all. I have a hard time working with this, and I think it's better suited for those with oily skin.

My last complexion product is actually the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude. I know so many people love this but I find it to be pretty lackluster. The colour is, again, way too dark for my skin and I have a pretty hard time blending it, so it doesn't look very natural on my skin. I also wish it had just a bit more coverage. 

For cheeks, I have one blush. This is the NYC Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow.This is a beautiful colour, and I love the way it looks, but I don't find myself reaching for this very much. I regret buying this mostly because blush takes me forever to use up and I have waaaaay too many!

Moving on into eyes, my first product is the Pixi Lustrous Eye Primer. I love the colour, which is a sort of peachy gold hue, but the staying power of this is horrible. Though it claims to be a primer, it creases horribly and doesn't keep shadows staying on for longer.

The Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow Quad in Skinlights is my second eye product. While I love the pigmentation and colours in this quad, my issue is the same as the primer - the staying power is terrible. I have, however, used up quite a bit of these (I mentioned them in my Products I've Hit Pan On post, here).

My last eye product is this Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Fishnet. I love the payoff and consistency but I obviously can't use this colour on an everyday basis. I regret purchasing this merely because I don't have much of a use for it.

I have one lip product - the Polysporin Daily Lip Care. While this is a nice treatment, it feels very grainy on the lips and I hate using it during the day, because it is so thick and grainy. It isn't like a typical lip balm - it comes off on your lips in chunks (how attractive!).

The last product I have is something I did a haul on (if you want to see that post, click here). This is the Tresemme Smoothing Dry Shampoo, and the only thing I like about this is the smell. It doesn't take away any oils, and it doesn't do a very good job smoothing. What I'll do with this is apply it after I use cornstarch on my hair to get rid of the oils, and it gives my hair a nice fresh scent.

April Favorites!

Now I know that everyone says this, but I can't believe April is already over. It absolutely flew by and May is going to be a busy month! However, I'm excited to share my favorites with you all - so let's get into it :]

Starting with non-makeup favorites, my first is going to have to be the Quo Crease Shadow brush. It's absolutely phenomenal and I might just have to pick up an extra one. Everyone needs a good crease brush, and this is amazing - I use it to apply a wash of colour across my lid, apply crease shades, blend said crease shades, and even apply and blend concealer. Much like a MAC 217 (which I still need to try!) this is an all-in-one product. I even got it on sale.

My next product is the Vaseline Cocoa Butter body lotion. I recently finished yet another lotion, and I pulled this one out of my stash to try again. After just a few uses I can really tell how amazing this lotion is. It's incredibly moisturizing, non-greasy and smells really good too.

Moving on into makeup - face products. The first is going to be pretty surprising seeing as I'm pretty sure I mentioned how much I disliked this product in one of my Project Pan blog posts. This is the L'oreal HIP cream blush in Enamoured. The reason why I disliked this so much at first was because of the quality and how dry it was, but once I got through the first layer it got much creamier and blendable. It's a beautiful, wearable shade of pink that looks super natural on the cheeks, and the staying power isn't too shabby either.

My next face product is the Benefit Erase Paste concealer. This is a phenomenal concealer on a whole, and if I had the right shade I would love it even more. It is in medium (I got it from a set) and it's waaaaay too dark for me. However, I like to apply this underneath my foundation on any blemishes. I find it gives a way less cakey look because the foundation looks smooth, but my problem areas are still concealed. It's a winner for me.

Last is something I don't know if I've mentioned yet. It is the Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand in Pearl. This product comes in two shades, the other being "Gold", and it is absolutely gorgeous. The reason why I love this so much is because it is so natural - it has slight shimmer but mostly just leaves a subtle sheen on your face. I actually like this much better than Benefit's High Beam. The only downside is the steep price.

Moving into eye products, my first favorite is the Stila eyeshadow in Kitten. I love this because it has such great colour payoff and texture, and is absolutely gorgeous on the lids. I like to pair this with a matte taupe or brown colour, and I love the natural look I can achieve this way.

Last for eyes is the NYX Eye and Eyebrow pencil in White. You can probably guess where I put this - on my lower waterline. What this does is it extends the whites of your eyes downward, so that your eyes generally look bigger and more open. The pencil itself isn't the creamiest but I like that because the white looks much more natural and subtle. It's also matte, which means it's more natural as well.

For lips, I have two products. The first is the Urban Decay lipgloss in Naked, which I got from my Naked 2 palette. To start, the packaging on this is AMAZING. It is the most gorgeous lipgloss tube I own. The actual colour is very pigmented, has a great consistency and scent, and there is something about it that just makes my lips look really good. It's like a my-lips-but-better colour.

Last but certainly not least is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé. This my mom gave me from her birthday set (which was amazing) and I've found that I love it. It smells like lemons, and gives a very pretty, subtle pink tint to your lips. In addition, it is incredibly thick and moisturizing. Review: Urban Decay Naked 2!

This post is way overdue. I've had it in my drafts for a few months now but I've been super busy and unable to blog :/ I figure better late than never!

I'm so happy to be able to do this post - this palette was one I really wanted for quite a while when it came out. I actually don't own the original Naked palette, so I hope no one was expecting me to compare these two products. That aside, I come to you with a (very positive!) review on the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I picked this up in Orlando, Florida (to see the blog post haul I did, click here). 

Urban Decay "NAKED 2" - $50 USD, Sephora

First of all, it comes with 12 neutral shadows, a dual-ended brush (which is absolutely amazing), and a small "Lip Junkie" lipgloss in the shade Naked. I'd like to say right off the bat that these shadows are quite pigmented and go on the eyes nicely. The lipgloss is lovely - moisturizing and is a beautiful colour. I've used this palette for quite a bit (I actually put myself on a ban from using it, because I want to finish a few other eyeshadows first). The quality of each shadow is phenomenal.

There are a ton of reviews on this palette out there, and I don't want to go into too much detail about any one shade. However, some of my favorites are "Bootycall" for a highlight or lid colour, "Verve" for a lid colour, and "Pistol" for the crease. These three colours combined make for an amazing, shimmery eye look that is more grey-toned than brown, which I find suits my skin colour much better.

I do have to say that there are two shadows that I don't like. The first is actually "Half-Baked". It is amazingly pigmented, but I can't see myself using it. It's just a true gold colour, and I prefer cooler, more subtle neutral shades. The other shadow in this palette that didn't make the cut for me was "Foxy" - I know many people have raved about this shadow but I find the pigmentation to be lackluster, and the colour is virtually invisible on my skin. It's actually the exact same colour as my Maybelline Fit Me powder, and has about the same colour payoff.

In all, I think this palette is amazing and totally worth the money. I actually much prefer it to the original Naked palette. I definitely recommend checking this out if you haven't already (considering just how long it has been out for).
