Makeup Collection and Storage!

I love watching and reading makeup collection videos and posts so I thought I would do one of my own! I don't have a lot of makeup but it's enough for me.

My makeup is situated on my desk so I can sit down to do it, and I also do my homework here too. I keep it all in this 9-drawer wooden storage case that is available at IKEA. In this case, the green drawers contain office supplies, and the yellow drawers contain makeup products. My mom actually painted these double-sided so I could switch around the drawers to mix up the colours, and I like the way I could use that to my advantage. The plastic bins that you will see later in this post are available at Wal-Mart or dollar stores.

Off to the side here, you can see I keep my brush holder, my eyeliners, my sunscreen, face lotion and my MAC quad (just because I've been using it often. To see the blog post on that, click here).

I have a post on how to make this brush holder, so to see that, click here.

I keep my eyeliners in this little ice cream cup that I painted a while ago, and I used some of the little plastic beads from my brush holder to stand them upright.

In this first drawer, I have complexion products. I have a few concealers, one foundation, one tinted moisturizer, one BB cream, a powder and a couple of highlighters.

In the second drawer I have blushes and bronzers, as well as a random Annabelle eyeshadow quad that I have no use for. I've got quite a wide variety of blushes and one sad, lonely little LORAC bronzer.

The third drawer contains eye products. This is a super full drawer, but as you can probably see I have one mascara, a few primers, some cream eyeshadows, some singles, two pigments and a few palettes. I also have one gel eyeliner in here.

My last drawer is my palettes drawer, which is fairly empty - in here, I just have my Urban Decay Naked 2 and my Too Faced Natural Eye palettes.

Off to the side I keep two white baskets with my lip products as well as my eyelash curler and my mini brow kit. In one basket I have lip balms and glosses, and in the other I have lip sticks and my Avon lip product samples. If anyone would like to see this collection in detail, I can do a post on that, but there are quite a few products in here so I thought I'd just do a brief overview.

The rest of my beauty products (i.e. skincare, samples, perfume, etc.) are located either in my dresser or my bathroom - so this is my full makeup collection! For those reading, do you have a makeup collection video/blog post? If so, leave it down below! I'd love to see it :)

Review: Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream!

So I recently found a little sample of this BB Cream in a magazine lately and I tried it out. I liked it so much that I actually ended up purchasing the full size, so I thought I should probably talk a little bit about the product.

The Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream is a mix between a tinted moisturizer and a foundation. It claims to brighten, renew, and hydrate your skin as you wear it. I purchased this in the shade Light/Medium, and I must say I definitely prefer it to both my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and (gasp!) my Revlon Colorstay Foundation.

I'm going to try to keep this fairly quick - in short, I love this. It has more coverage than a typical tinted moisturizer but is not quite as heavy as a foundation, which I love. It comes out of the tube a very thick consistency, but when warmed up between the fingers it thins out and goes on extremely smoothly. In addition, it smells AMAZING - I can't even describe it, though if you are someone who doesn't like fragrance then I don't think this would be for you.

One other thing I loved about this was how well the colour blended into my skin. Though it seemed to be too dark at first, it matched perfectly well once I put it on!

This comes in two shades and is available at most drugstores for around $16 CAD. Would you ever try a BB Cream?

Products I Regret Buying!

I've been wanting to do a post like this for a while, so without further ado, may I present the products I regret buying!
The first product is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser for dark circles in the shade 20, fair. I regret buying this particular colour because it's very dark, particularly for underneath my eyes. I like to use a slightly lighter concealer for that area and this is darker than my actual skin tone, so it definitely doesn't work under my eyes. I've still used a lot of it, because it was expensive, but I wouldn't even repurchase it.

Next is the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Sand. Again, this is slightly too dark for me. I also found that since I have really dry skin, this cakes up on me and though it conceals, it doesn't look natural at all. I have a hard time working with this, and I think it's better suited for those with oily skin.

My last complexion product is actually the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude. I know so many people love this but I find it to be pretty lackluster. The colour is, again, way too dark for my skin and I have a pretty hard time blending it, so it doesn't look very natural on my skin. I also wish it had just a bit more coverage.

For cheeks, I have one blush. This is the NYC Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow. This is a beautiful colour, and I love the way it looks, but I don't find myself reaching for this very much. I regret buying this mostly because blush takes me forever to use up and I have waaaaay too many!

Moving on into eyes, my first product is the Pixi Lustrous Eye Primer. I love the colour, which is a sort of peachy gold hue, but the staying power of this is horrible. Though it claims to be a primer, it creases horribly and doesn't keep shadows staying on for longer.

The Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow Quad in Skinlights is my second eye product. While I love the pigmentation and colours in this quad, my issue is the same as the primer - the staying power is terrible. I have, however, used up quite a bit of these (I mentioned them in my Products I've Hit Pan On post, here).

My last eye product is this Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Fishnet. I love the payoff and consistency but I obviously can't use this colour on an everyday basis. I regret purchasing this merely because I don't have much of a use for it.

I have one lip product - the Polysporin Daily Lip Care. While this is a nice treatment, it feels very grainy on the lips and I hate using it during the day, because it is so thick and grainy. It isn't like a typical lip balm - it comes off on your lips in chunks (how attractive!).

The last product I have is something I did a haul on (if you want to see that post, click here). This is the Tresemme Smoothing Dry Shampoo, and the only thing I like about this is the smell. It doesn't take away any oils, and it doesn't do a very good job smoothing. What I'll do with this is apply it after I use cornstarch on my hair to get rid of the oils, and it gives my hair a nice fresh scent.

Those are all of the products I regret buying! If you're reading, what is your number one worst product you've purchased?
